After first outgrowing their basements, then their split-level studio in Dinkytown USA, Burlesque of North America, Lonny Unitus, and Amy Jo Hendrickson set out to find their new homebase, a space large enough to expand their print operations, design work, and aspirations to display their own artwork and that of an enormous network of talented friends and mentors. It was a quest that led them all the way to northeast Minneapolis, a hub of local artisans, local bars, and local yokels, and the
basement of 1101 Stinson Blvd. With a fresh coat or two of paint, a pile of huge new equipment, and a lot of work, the new space was dubbed "First Amendment," and a movement was born. As we celebrate this step forward, we invite you to become acquainted not only with our own work from the past and present, but with that of our collaborators, inspirations, and those we're honored to call friends.
Please join us on Friday, September 29th, at First Amendment: The gallery, the print shop, the movement.
1101 Stinson Boulevard, Basement Suite A & B.
7pm until your socks have been rocked right off.
No cover, all ages.
First Amendment is located just south of 35W on Stinson Boulevard at the intersection of Broadway Street Northeast on the northeast corner. The entrance is on Broadway. In addition to on-street parking, First Amendment's free evening parking is located across Stinson at Metler Auto.

Featured artists:
+ BURLESQUE OF NORTH AMERICA
An art collective of the future, born out of an assembled group past, and proving that there are five enjoyments or more to exist, Burlesque is equal parts skater, graff writer, record collector, pop culture junkie, fine artist, workhorse, problem solver, and nerd alert. The principal players include Todd Bratrud (Consolidated Skateboards, Flip, Teenage Runaway, Familia), Mike Davis (twelvecarpileup.com, St. Louis' Litterthugz, DJ Mike the 2600 King), Aaron Horkey (Black Osprey Dead Arts
Society, Generica USA), Skye Rossi (Rhymesayers), George R. Thompson IV (Fobia, Iota, RVCA, Lords of Apathy), and Wes Winship (Life Sucks Die Magazine). Their award-winning work can be explored in shops, galleries, and publications
worldwide and through the wonders of the internet at burlesquedesign.com and gigposters.com
+ AMY JO HENDRICKSON
Upon the dashing of her cowgirl-ballerina-minister-professional-roller-skater dreams, North Dakotan transplant Amy Jo took to the streets, armed with a love of rock-n-roll and a suitcase chock full o' artistic ability and know-how. Best known for her
eye-catching rock posters and innovative record covers, her work has been published in The Art of Modern Rock, Panda Meat, Gasoline Magazine, Underworld Magazine, and Fistful of Rock, diplayed throughout the US and Portugal, and much of it is on view and on sale at missamyjo.com and gigposters.com
+ LONNY UNITUS
Big talent comes from small towns, and Lonny Unitus is one more example of the powers of rock music, artistic talent, and hard work coming together in one awesome package. After transitioning from the good, old-fashioned Xeroxed flyer to the world of screenprinting, Lonny hasn't looked back, and his distinctive hand-drawn work can be found in full living color in The Art of Modern Rock, Swag 2, and at lonnyunitus.com and gigposters.com
Additionally, please mark your calendars for October's First Amendment show, opening Halloween night (that's Tuesday, October 31st) and featuring the art of Aaron Horkey, Seldon Hunt, and Stephen O'Malley.
